Aly Storey’s previous work has been preoccupied by structure, angular and organic shapes, geometry and abstraction. Here printmaking using inked plates and tissue stencils allows for playful interaction between the artist and the process. Allowing the work to develop through passing the print through the press several times, building layers and consequently, though solidity and transparency allowing the finished monotype to emerge.
